Different IP Address Assigned to Each Port in IPv4 Proxy and Connection Mechanism

One of the most common confusions customers encounter with IPv4 Proxy services is that the IP address used when establishing a proxy connection differs from the IP address used when accessing the internet. This situation actually stems from the fundamental working principle of proxy technology, and indeed, a different IP address is assigned to each port.

Difference Between Proxy Connection Server and Outbound IP Address

In proxy services, there are two different types of IP addresses:

  • Connection Server (Gateway) IP Address: This is the IP address you use when first connecting to the proxy. This address represents the physical location and access point of the proxy server. It is usually provided as a hostname (e.g., dc.livaproxy.com) or a fixed IP address.
  • Outbound IP Address: This is the IP address through which you actually access the internet. Websites and platforms see this IP address of yours. This address is different for each proxy port, and this is the IP address that is truly valuable.

The IP address you see in your proxy connection file (credentials.txt) is only the address of the connection server. For example:

dc.livaproxy.com:10001:username:password

In this example, dc.livaproxy.com is the connection server, 10001 is the port number. However, when you establish this connection, you access the internet through a completely different IP address like 185.x.x.1.

System for Assigning Different IP Addresses to Each Port

In LivaProxy IPv4 Proxy services, a different port number and a unique outbound IP address specific to that port are assigned for each proxy you purchase. For example:

PortConnection ServerInternet Outbound IP
10001dc.livaproxy.com185.120.45.12
10002dc.livaproxy.com185.120.47.88
10003dc.livaproxy.com185.120.50.134
10004dc.livaproxy.com185.120.52.201

As can be seen, even though the connection server (dc.livaproxy.com) is the same, internet access is made through a different real IP address via each port. Therefore, when you purchase 50 IPv4 Proxies, you gain internet access through 50 different real IP addresses.

How Do You Check Your Real Outbound IP Address?

After establishing your proxy connection, you can use the following methods to see which IP address you're accessing the internet through:

  • IP Check Websites in Browser: After configuring your proxy settings, you can visit sites like whatismyip.com, ipinfo.io, or ipleak.net to see your real outbound IP.
  • cURL Command: In terminal or command line, you can directly query the outbound IP with the command curl --proxy dc.livaproxy.com:10001 --proxy-user username:password ipinfo.io.
  • Software and Automation Tools: The log records of scraping, automation, or bot software you use typically contain information about which IP the request was made from.

Advantages of Masking and Gateway Structure

Providing access to multiple IPs through a single gateway (connection server) in proxy systems has technical and practical advantages:

  • Centralized Management: All your proxy connections are managed through a single server address, making it easier to configure your connection settings.
  • Load Balancing: The gateway server automatically balances traffic and optimizes performance.
  • Security: Your real IP pool is hidden from the outside world; only the gateway address is visible.
  • Flexibility: You don't need to change your connection settings when IP changes occur; it's managed server-side.

Common Misconceptions and Explanations

The notion that "The same IP is being provided, only the port changes" is a misconception that arises when only looking at the connection server address. In reality:

  • Each port number has a different outbound IP address
  • The connection server address (hostname or gateway IP) may remain fixed, but this is a masking mechanism
  • Each proxy package you purchase contains unique IP addresses assigned to you
  • No proxy IP address is shared with other customers (dedicated structure)

Difference Between Datacenter and ISP IPv4 Proxy

The same port-IP logic applies to both proxy types:

  • Datacenter IPv4 Proxy: IP addresses registered to data centers are used. The connection server is typically in the form of dc.livaproxy.com.
  • ISP IPv4 Proxy: Residential IP addresses registered to official internet service providers (Vodafone, Turkcell, Türk Telekom) are used. The connection server may be isp.livaproxy.com or an operator-specific hostname.

In both cases, you receive as many unique outbound IP addresses as the number of proxies you purchased.

Port Number and IP Mapping

In your order delivery file (credentials.txt or proxy list), each line represents a separate proxy connection. Sample file format:

dc.livaproxy.com:10001:username:password
dc.livaproxy.com:10002:username:password
dc.livaproxy.com:10003:username:password

These three lines represent three different proxy IP addresses. Each port number (10001, 10002, 10003) is linked to a different real IP behind the scenes.

IP Diversity in Multiple Proxy Usage

When you purchase 50 IPv4 Proxies, you obtain 50 different port numbers and therefore 50 different internet outbound IP addresses. These IP addresses:

  • Are selected from different subnet blocks (for IP diversity)
  • Are personal to you and not shared with other customers
  • Have a fixed (static) structure and don't change during the service period
  • Have high reliability and low spam/fraud scores

Proxy Connection Test Scenario

If you want to test that you're actually receiving different IPs:

  1. Establish your first proxy connection (dc.livaproxy.com:10001)
  2. Visit whatismyip.com and note your IP (e.g., 185.120.45.12)
  3. Disconnect and connect to the second proxy (dc.livaproxy.com:10002)
  4. Visit the same site again and note your new IP (e.g., 185.120.47.88)
  5. You will see that the two IP addresses are different

This test clearly demonstrates that a different IP address is indeed assigned to each port.

Conclusion

In IPv4 Proxy services, the connection server IP address you use differs from the IP address through which you access the internet. A unique outbound IP address is allocated for each proxy you purchase (each port number). Seeing the same hostname or gateway IP in your connection file does not mean all proxies have the same IP. This is a masking mechanism used by the proxy infrastructure for centralized management and security. You can use the test methods mentioned above to check your real IP address.
