When you receive an IP address change notification for your IPv6 Proxy service, in most cases, you do not need to take any action on your end. This article explains in detail what IP change notifications mean, when you need to take action, and how the proxy connection mechanism works.
The connection information you use for our IPv6 Proxy services consists of two different IP addresses:
Our customers typically connect to the proxy server via a hostname or a fixed IPv4 address. The actual IPv6 addresses used for internet access are automatically managed in the background.
An IP change notification from LivaProxy typically indicates the following situations:
Such changes are made to improve service continuity and quality and do not negatively affect the customer experience.
If the following conditions apply, you do not need to make any configuration changes:
With hostname-based connections, backend IP changes are automatically updated through DNS resolution. The information in the delivery file downloaded from the customer panel remains valid.
Rarely, manual updates may be required in the following situations:
If the notification explicitly states that "the connection server IP address has changed" and you are connecting via IP address (instead of hostname), you need to update this IP address in your software or device proxy settings.
If the notification includes a directive such as "download the new delivery file," it is recommended to download and use the file containing updated connection information from your customer panel.
If you are connecting using the IP authorization method and the system has started using a new connection server IP, you may need to add the new IP address to the whitelist in your firewall or network settings.
After receiving an IP change notification, to verify that your connection is working properly:
To always access your current connection information:
The delivery file always contains the most current connection information and is automatically updated by the system.
In our Premium IPv6 Subnet Proxy Server services, automatic IP refresh is active at the interval selected during ordering. In these services:
No. IP changes are generally performed in the background without interruption. Your active connections are not affected.
IP changes become active at the time the notification is sent or on the date specified in the notification. If you are using a hostname, the DNS update time may be between 5-15 minutes.
If the hostname and port information have not changed, your existing settings will continue to work. An update is only required if the connection server IP has changed and you are connecting via IP.
Check the hostname/IP address and port number in your delivery file. This information should be consistent with the changes specified in the notification.
